This awesome looking machine is a sugar cane juicer! The guys at this stand were selling glassses of pure sugar cane juice fresh from the stalk. Unbelievable juicy, molassas-y sweet but not cloying and a little grassy tasting. Plus the juicer is so cool looking!
Cane juice would add a totally great taste to a sorbet or ice cream. I found a hand crank, chill in the freezer type ice cream maker at a thrift store and next time I come across fresh cane juice, I’m totally making ice cream with it!
